OK, This is a weird one.
200sl w/ expansion. 14.11 software.
Customer cannot put outbound calls on hold. Inbound works fine.
Per engineering I've 1st Inited and ASCIIed in the program. I've replace the MCP and the 8T-c.
All to no avail. Port Washington says they've never seen this one. Has anyone else?

Interesting. I think I have run across this before. It has something to do with 1a2 emulation and reserving an analog trunk to a boss group. I think the trunk has to be reserved to a boss group, the phone has to be assigned in that group (ringing or not) and then the line key like 7100 etc put on the telephone. I saw this on flexsets ONLY as an issue and not DKT's in a mixed environment once.

Have you tried putting outbound call on hold AFTER 1st initing but BEFORE ASCIIing?

Coral, The system is a "squared away" setup, line keys for the 8 lines. All lines are reserved for Boss 500. Boss 500 is all phones. ?
I didn't program this one so don't look at me, but I will definitely remove the reserve and see what happens.
I didn't try it after the 1st init before the ASCII. Didn't think of that one. Port Washington has sent an upgrade to 14.67. Which was the next step. I'll post the results.

OK, the problem was.....
answer timer under tk.t. Default is 60 secs. If it don't is not in answer, you can't hold it. I'm suprized this isn't seen more, but who puts a call on hold in the 1st minute, unless you're trying to test it.
Thanks Muter, I'll have to keep an eye on it for further problems added by the upgrade

I can see someone being put on hold within the first minute:
"XYZ Company, please hold. XYZ Company, please hold. XYZ Company, please hold. Thank you for holding, how may I help you?"
As opposed to a law office, that can't get all the partners' names in within a minute ("Thank you for calling the law offices of XYZ, PDQ, RDB, MGD, RLI, ROI, YTQ, and Associates. May I place you on hold for a minute?").
Otherwise, I can definitely see a call being placed on hold within the first minute.
