Question: If NI2 outbound name and number CID was enabled on my PRI by my provider, is the Name that is transmitted by the IPx the "Full Name" programmed in the plis section of the switch?
Background: I have an IPx Office with several SLTs and keysets. My PRI is the XO IP Flex product with the lines provisioned as a PRI. With either SLTs or keysets we have them programmed to transmit their respective DID from our XO assigned block of DIDs, and that DID is passed through to the call recipient properly. XO swears to me that NI2 is enabled on our circuit with number AND name allowed, but right now XO is overriding whatever name the IPx transmits and replaces it with the name on our account. I'm already working with XO to correct this (I'm fairly certain that the techs don't realize it but that XO purposely blocks the name at some level of the organization - I'm still duking it out with them but I want to make sure that IF I get them to pass through whatever CID name comes from the IPx that I'm ready for it). In the "isdn" section of programming, the Alt_IDs are properly configured to "National" and "regional" which I'm told is the NI2 standard, and that is also where I input the outbound DID to use (which works), but there is no Name field there. So, back to the question: is the transmitted NI2 Name the same as programmed in the "plis" section for each respective Dial#, or is there another place to program the name that would go out?

Your provider cannot transmit the name you want by adding it in the Full Name entry. The Provider can send the correct number you want by extension, but the name will be what is provisioned on the PRI, ie Company name. If there is something I am missing here I think I am correct.
