Quick question: I'm trying to program a button so a user can get to another user's VM quickly. It's a Coral III with a UCMC system, and we're configured so that you call VM (APDL, so a single library button) then press *+ Extension to go to someone else's extension.
So the button programming string should, theoretically be <APDL>,*<extension> but the system recognizes a * as signal to insert a delay.
Any thoughts?
I can't seem to find anything useful in my manual (mainly looking in section 9) or my notes from a long-ago install class (And George, I did take notes on button programming, jsut not this. )

I THINK it's **. Believe it or not those little pesky booklets that used to come with the digital phones have those library codes in them. I would try somthing like .d1 ** or if there is a code that forces DTMF..which I THINK there is. You could also simply use the hunt group number as outdial grp and insert the * in the dial string.

After re-reading it, are you trying to transfer to someone's voice mail directly? That's done by creating a library, say 6+ext number. Then make the outdial to the APDL. Then go into admin programming to the PBX section go into boxani to remap the 6+ext = ext. Done.

Looks like ** does the trick.
basically,t he idea is that an assistant can have a button on her phone to dial in to her boss' voicemail instead of needing to dial VM, press *, then the boss' extension.
