I am the sys admin for 50 staff. We have a Coral IPX 500 over a PRI and use Flexicall and external call forwarding extensively.
Our carrier has set our main number to be broadcast on all outbound calls, bypassing any CID programming within the phone system. This is a requirement on the carrier's end- for us to be able to use Flexicall.
When the carrier turns on the ability for us to set the CID from within the phone system, then- the carrier will reject any outbound calls which do not come from our DID block. Which of course, breaks Flexicall, etc.
I have asked our phone vendor if there is any way within the phone system to mask/change the CID for incoming Flexicall calls that are routed out through our carrier on the PSTN. Unfortunately, our phone vendor did not have a solution so I'm writing here in the hope that someone has any suggestions (besides changing carriers).
Thanks for any replies! mw

Well, under trunk group settings switch it from transparent and set the system to use the caller id sent out in the lcr section. If you want individual DID's to show in THIS way you have to program the alternate line id's under ISDN and assign that id to the extension. Good luck, I can't guarantee that will fix it.

Thanks for your fast reply. I understood most of it, but I don't know what an lcr is- and didn't find this 'section' under Trunk Groups. I don't mind calling back in our phone vendor, but want to be able to explain exactly what needs to be done on the Tadiran.
After we determine a few things to try, I will have the carrier flip the CID switch on their end. Are you suggesting that we flip from TRANSPARENT to site_ldn? Thanks again. mw

LCR is the ARS. Hopefully you are using this already. Least Cost Routing/Automatic Route Selection.
Yes. That will keep the caller id from passing on through.

It worked!!! Thank you very much! I'm disappointed my phone vendor could not do this. Folks have wanted this feature for years! Now, I have to figure out how to change the internal CID that is broadcast with Flexicall-- right now- it's sending someone's extension and I want to change it so it sends the main number. mw

never mind-- I figured it out. Again, many thanks!!! mw
p.s. I wonder if, in your experience--most carriers limit outgoing calls- such that they must originate from the customers DID block? If so, I'd imagine that this issue comes up a lot.

There are so many carriers that are blocking spoofing now. What they have to do is authorize your DID block with the LD carrier as valid numbers. Quite honestly there is a lot of laziness in the LECS and CLECS lately because you cannot overirde the BTN.

It appears that CFALL works fine to external tel numbers but that Flexicall does not. CF ALL will always show the call as being from the same telephone number-- (that is xxx-xxx-0400) regardless of the internal station. 2 Questions-- 1- where do I change this number so at least I can put in our main number. 2- Any further suggestions to get Flexicall to work. Perhaps I need to set the outgoing number to be the same as our BTN?--which goes back to questions #1. TIA for any replies. THAT is set in LCR. That is you type in LCR from a command line and it takes you to the section where you set that, it's in one of those options. THAT is where you set site number that you set in the tkgrp Site LDN setting.
Any other carriers in the area that can jump into the late 20th century in your area?

Gotcha- and THANK YOU! I changed that to our BTN, but that didn't seem to help Flexicall find its way. So, CF-ALL still works fine with external numbers, yet Flexicall does not.
However,a call from an internal station to another internal station with Flexicall enabled will correctly route the call externally). Just won't work if the call originates externally.
I'm sorry to keep bugging you, but I actually learn a lot by reading these forums. mw
