Presently we have a Toshiba CTX 670 system.

I am not a fan of this system. I'm a system admin and not a phone guy per say, but I find the system difficult to get around. Also seeing how I've been asked to support the system and I am not a authorized reseller, I don't have access to the vast documentation Toshiba has for their tech. So moving forward,

A phone guy we use has approached us about using Tadiran's phone system.

I would be interested in anyone's thoughts about the company and the phone systems as a whole. I see a long list of companies that use the system, but would like some end use feedback if available.

Quickly glancing over their offerings, we're looking at the Wave Gateway to sit in front of our Toshiba System and Sea Softswitches for smaller branch locations.

what size of company? how many locations? What price range are you looking at? (be as vague as possible in that department). We have Tadirans running Counties, Colleges, Banks with multiple locations, and we also have in customers with less than 30 users. What are you looking at in 1 year, 10 years, 20 years?

I would also add what do you want to be able to do that you can or can't do now.

You'll want to do some research here. They have beeen sold a half dozen times in the last 10-15 years. Future software/hardware support would be my comcern...

If you are looking at new systems you should call Coral Tech in to talk with you .... he is in your area, has been on here for years and has shown an in depth knowledge of our industry as well as the IT side of the world as well.

I only know of one Tadiran dealer in my area .. they don't sell it anymore... just support their installed base.

Another option would be to search for, and hire, a Toshiba vendor that you like and feel comfortable dealing with ... a couple of hours of labor for some admin training and cleanup would cost a few hundred dollars but you may find that your system is perfectly adeqaute and meets your needs and you wouldn't need to spend any money on a new system.
