Hi, I am a sysadmin (not phone expert) but do almost all of the moves/adds changes for my 50 user company on the Tadiran Coral IPX.
The situation here is that I have a user who wants to try the 280s IP phone vs the 280s keyset, which he using currently. The reason he wants to try it is because the IP version (we think) has a full duplex speakerphone.
I might have to put it back if (after he tests it) if he decides he doesn't like it.
I know how to go into NPL, and I can see the IP_KEYSET on the extension I want to change.
So that I can learn how to do this process, I want to change the ringing extension on the IP Phone from what it is now 448 to 403. 403 is vacant and is setup correctly in the offset filter.
I tried to update the number in NPL and get an error "numbers can't be updated"
What else should I do to change the number. Thanks in advance for any replies.

280s IP phone is full duplex. You have a conflict in your numbering plan if you cannot update the number. If is NOT a conflict you will need to get a certified tech in and see if you have a corrupted database.

It appears that I had to remove the destination number from the NPL first-- and then it let me reassign the extension to that number.
Thank you.

Um......So I successfully moved an extension from a regular Keyset to an IP keyset. But I can't seem to figure out how to do the reverse.
I know I want to move the extension back where it was on 0,7,5 but I can't seem to figure out how to do that.
If any advice, please post-- otherwise, will contact local tadiran phone vendor. Thx.

figured it out. Had to put parenthesis around the (0 7 5) when creating the new keyset. Thats all it was. Thx.

should IP Keysets have anything under DIAL_NUMBER under IPKEY. I have 2 IP keysets. One extension says -- while the other one says the users actual extension. I have a feeling that its supposed to be blank or --

never mind. I was looking at the wrong index number.
It appears that the routing to the new IP keyset did not work properly until I assigned a number to the old PBX keyset. Having the old one left blank (no dial#) and still plugged in to the phone system caused some routing issues. For example, the other IP phone still dialed the old PBX keyset.
