Ok, still messing with this CID stuff with a little success....
I think I setup correctly since I can now get the CID- and number to show up when I change the line type to 30 per the manual. the problem I have is when I do that, the normal Auto Attendant scripts no longer function..... Anyone have any ideas?
Second question, I think I must have Eclipse version 3 to get the name right? so if I have 2.5.1, how do I get this upgraded to 3???? I would REALLY like to get this done :-)

Do you mean that the AA doesn't answer at all? I think you do need ver.3 to get the name. Cid with name can cause problems with ver2.5.1. I had a cust.add the name to cid and on incoming calls the caller couldn't hear us answering. I think that was with a pri.You should be able to find either the software or a cpu with ver3 from several vendors out there.

Right, AA does not answer.... Something picks up the line because it stops ringing, but there is nothing but silence in the handset of the caller.... anyone have any ideas?

Make sure that the greetings are still there. Try making an incoming call while watching the "c" screen to see what's answering. Also as I said earlier I had a problem long ago when a cust.added cid name without telling us.I think they had 2.5.0 or 2.5.1-the symptom was that the calling party couldn't her us answer.Maybe you could ask the carrier to stop sending the name(or all cid) to test.Good luck.

Ok, CRAP!!! I updated the software to 3.0.9 and now I get intermittent CID information correctly like ID and Name.... but almost always it answers with dead air if I let it ring a handful of times..... I set the phone TYPE back to 000 and no CID and everything works fine,,,, i set type to 030 and this weirdness....

Ok, here is some more poop..... I was having a wierd hang up issue, so I started changing cards..... and when I got to the evx card it seems to be answering now.... BUT...... after 5 rings the voicemail extensions answer (3901-3904) but I do not hear anything in the handset.... if I set line type to 000 then I hear it but no CID.... set back to 030 and I get name and number fine.... but after 5 rings I get silence????

It is something to do with the line type...There are other line type numbers you can stick in there, I'll try and find my little book of cheat sheet stuff, but, in the mean time try line type 61 or 62.......You really can't hurt anything, because you can always put it back.
I can see the light at the end of the tunnel..

Try line types 31, 32, 61, 62 etc.
Good Luck!!
If all else fails, use a BFH.

Can someone define These line types?
I'm also not sure it has something to do with the line types....it might be something else....
We are now getting the following symptom.... it is intermittent....
Phone rings, might be one ring, or 3 rings, caller ID appears 95% of the time, then the incoming call is picked up then hung up on.... I went into the C screen and watched the system for hours on end, and it shows the incoming call, then when it drops the call I see nothing indicating to what is picking the line up.... it just dissapears from the screen....
Here is what I have done so far.... I changed the Trunk card these lines were installed on, no change..... I then changed the CARD next to the CPU that has the modem on it (don't know what it is called) and it appeared to changed the symptom initially but now I'm not sure if it really changed it or not.... becasue it still does it... I reset all cards in the rack and powered up and down multiple times....

Have you tried using your test set on the trunk directly to see if it is a CO problem?
