I have CA1 installed, and can view call accounting data but it always list it from the oldest to the most recent, and lets face it we are almost always looking for recent information right? So I did some research and found how to "backup" the "Call accounting memeory" using the V option under backps and got the file but don't know what format it is in... I tried to open with excell but it is mostly garbage.....

Any help?

Backing up the data is only used incase the cpu takes a dump. then it can be restored after the cpu is replaced.

You would need a 3rd party software to ' sort ' the data output from the smdr port. we used to use "Tabs", don't know if they are still in business or not.

Basiclly you would send all the raw data to the "tabs" PC. and then sort from there.

"Tapit" is another type of 3rd party software.

I can see the light at the end of the tunnel..

We use TAPIT EX call accounting systems with all our old Executone systems google it it would do all you need but call accounting is really used to track calls so you can charge people say like in a hospital for example while you stay you get a phone with a phone # which is just a group of DID's the hospital payed for and assigned to the phones in those rooms you can use TapIT to view all the call times/length/long distance it puts out graphs and tons of stuff but like i said its really used as a tracking tool for making money. You should be refining your account codes and your station programming if your having issues with people making calls you dont want them to etc.
