I'm interested to know what you are charging for service calls in your area. We charge $70 per hour.(if we sold the system all else $85) Trip charge is flat $25. AMC (MAC) are the same price per tech. We're in non Metro area of Southern California ------------------ Phone Genius https://www.phonesbyasap.com

$80 an hour for switch work. $65 an hour for cabeling. Trip charge for service is half the labour rate per hour.
If all else fails, use a BFH.

G ---- When I worked in your fair community 15 years ago it was a flat $55, one hour minimum. Here in the Midwest the going rate for my area for key systems varies between $65 and $115. We have keyed in to the costs plus comparison to other trades (electrical, computer, HVAC, even plumbers) as to what the market will bear. Birch was the hightest in the area with SBC, Sprint, then several large area installers. Locals are mostly in the $65-$80 range.
Hope this helps.

$68 per hour, half that for travel (round trip).

$40 trip charge, (1 hr min) $70 systems labor, cable $60 per hr. Rates sometimes negotiable.
All rates and charges subject to customers attitude.
Quick payments = better rates.

That's actually medium rates guys for pbx tech in Chicago. I do more than key systems and work on large integrated 1000+ phone networks.
