I need help hooking up a DVX voicemail to an IDS 42 with 8.2.4 software. I have a series E Manual that does not cover this. If someone could get me the info to connect the DVX to the 42 and what I need to do in programming. I have Procomm Plus to program the 42. Any help will be appreciated.

You will need VMS and VMI turned on, on the IDS, if it isn't already installed I don't think you can do it, I knwo they have shut down support and network solutions will only reinstall from a custome that had registered software. To find out log into the DB and look at the top of the screen it will have stuff like time vms vmi cid

you can use the Procom to get into the voicemail as well. you will need DB 9 to DB 9 cable. speed is 9600. once the cable is hooked up, hit enter or escape and you will see things on you r screen. press F8 key and it will ask you for your password, by default it is XXXXXX.
as soon as you press F8key look up top left korner it will give you the software version. I hope it is 7.5 or better. if it is, take 2 digital ports from the phone system and hook them up to the port 1 and 2 on the voicemail and restart the voicemail or have it shutdown before you plug in. it is better that way. once the voicemail comes up it will start setting itself up and set up all the mailboxes against the EXT you have created in the system. there are few other things that need to be done. if it does not work, find me.

the 2 digital ext from the system must be in hunt group 36 and VMS/ATT in A screen for those 2 EXT needs to be Y.
