Just picked up a customer with a IDS 42
I have alot of customers with the IDS 84.
It has been a long time since I saw the 42.
For the life of me I cannot find what kind cable or
pinouts from a db9 to db25 to program the 42 with
procomm.
You thoughs will really be apperciated !!!

It uses a standard DB25 to DB9 modem cable - no real magic to it. Really only needs transmit, receive and signal ground. (2, 3 & 7 on DB25, 2, 3 & 5 on DB9)

Thanks, I tried staight and NULL no joy.
Could not connect, I did not even see any garbage.
I even tried two different computers thinking
maybe my rs232 port was blown. I also reset the
42 knowing from the past they get dumb some times.

Did you try all speeds from 300 to 19.2 ?
Also the modem might work if the IO doesn't remember they came with 300 Baud modem with an optional 1200 if you wanted High speed LOL
