I'm new to the Executone Phone System. We have been experiencing something strange the last week. Phones are calling each other on their own. I have had three reports of this occurrence within the last week. One user also reported that her phone called an outside line, her phone rang, picked it up, and person on the other line told the user that she didn't call the user. Basically both phones rang but neither person had physically called each other. If anyone has heard of this please feel free to contact me.

Thanks,

Will

I would take a backup of the system at the main screen make note of the feature downloads that are installed and then I would do a reboot. If this is an 84 or higher make a note of the battery info good chance your battery is going to die sooner or later and odd's on sooner if it hasn't already been replaced. If you do not have the software or ability to down load it I would NOT reboot it. I would call the people that manage it for you and have them take a current down load leave you a copy and have them reboot it.

The problem is a bad connection on 1 of the phones acting up. First, move your cross connects around to check for a lose bridge clip, or lose cross connect. If its not there, check the jacks; move the wires around to see if the phones act up, or if a wire breaks off the jack. I have found many problems like this to be a bridge clip that the gap is too wide on, and makes a bad connection.

A phone will automatically call back if during a busy intercom call you hit the callback key on the display. Both users must complete the connection before it stops. Also, I agree with the 2 answers above or it's just a bad or damaged phone. Watch for a liquid on the circuit board. The stickiness of a soft drink will do this.
