hello again all,
today we have a customer in need of button reprogramming on his antique isoetec system 24. he swears he has a copy of the programming manual, but he just can't find it. anybody help with a source for a free manual download? smile are there different rom revisions requiring a certain version of the manual?

tia as always,
bill

Just log into system via 232 port 300 baud. No resource for manual download. Is he looking for key codes?

mc601,
this is my first time attempting to do anything with an isoetec system. the economy has forced me to become more "flexible", and it is forcing him to keep this antique going.
any thoughts as to why his button programming changed?

as far as pc administration, what is the pin-out on the system connector?

tia,
bill

The buttons may have changed because there were different phone types that could be used, if the ext was Programmed for a Larger type phone ( I'm having a Brain Fart here ( I can't Remember, but I'm pretty sure) There were 2 Types of phones) and then the smaller type phone was installed, the system wouldn't " know " , as in : the buttons were still programmed, just on a Different Key. I remember working on the 24, (and 66 and 96 ) but, it was So LONG ago...

Pin out is 2,3,7,20 with 2 and 3 flipped. Or you can try using remote call system and have someone transfer you to modem by doing trans/con 9#
300 baud.
Terminal set up TVI920 Xmodem.

That line most likely changed 24's use to have that issue every now and then. Changes to bogus key.

No, I haven't tried resetting the system, I'm not sure if the battery is any good, and I'd hate to totally screw the programming that is in there. Without a manual and familiarity with this system, I'd really hate to leave the customer with nothing working.

I'll see if I can connect to the system via RS-232, I hope i can find something as far as terminal software to connect to this thing.

Reset of system with reset button will not default it. But if battery is bad and you unplug to reset then it may indeed default. Systems 24 and the old 36's when defaulted squared up all phones with the keys programmed as CO lines based on the number of CO cards the system sees installed in system. I.E. The 24 system would make keys 1,2,3,4 Co lines 1,2,3,4 ... Then it takes keys 5~12 and turns them into DSS keys to other stations. Keys 13~16 become Station Speed dial keys and keys 17~20 become the following. MW,DND,PG-Z60 and Mute. It also makes like the first 4 or 5 phones ring on all lines. That may be a issue if one of them is in a area you don't want ringing. But at least you can use the phones.

Good luck and if need more info can PM anytime.
Keep in mind key 1 is top left and key 2 is top right and that is how they count. Sometimes system was programmed with lines on left row or right and if it did default of course programming didn't match key line up user was use to. I always avoided that and told people to keep default keys in place and go from there. Just makes it easier if it ever did default.
