I have an Executone phone system with the Infostar VX voicemail... today the VM went down and when I go into the software, it says, "missing line assignment info"... how do I correct this? I am at a big loss here... we can make calls out but cannot receive calls in because all went through the Infostar VX system... if somebody can advise, please do so quickly and thank you very much!!!

Did you try rebooting the VM

First thing that needs to be done is to route all incoming calls to the operator in the telephone system programming until you get the voice mail problem resolved.

Thanks for the responses but I have figured it out... in answer to the rebooting question... yes, yes, yes... x100... (not really but it seemed like it)... for some reason the '001' line was lost to the system... I went to "line maintenance' and restored '001' and, viola! it works!... maybe someone has a comment on why this would happen in the first place... thanks again...

Remember that your voicemail has a disk drive that has been running for maybe a decade or more. Be prepared!

Ah... The voice of experience! I just had a 15 year old system finally die this week. Hurray!

Was the line missing in the phone system? Or was the line information missing from the Voicemail line assignment screen. 2 different issues.
