I had someone call me this morning and request help. Now I am asking for help myself. They have an Intertel system that is giving a low battery message to the attendant station. She read me some info off of the back.

Axxent Rev 2 0-01
CPU 486

This is all I the info I have right now. I am sure that I will have to do a download of the database for a backup before I make the swap. Is there anywhere to get the programmer? Does anyone know what battery will be needed? Is there a feature code to get rid of the message? Thanks in Advance.

I just talked to a guy that told me that I could "hot swap" the battery. Is this going to cause a problem?

It shouldn't, All the battery does is hold memory when power is off. The problem is being able to replace it with-out pulling a card or what have ya...if it's accusable with the power on, I'd just swap it...don't put it in backwards. :-)

A dbase save is a great idea. We swap the battery hot. Remove any rings. A pick is sometimes helpful to pull the battery cover and pop the battery. Watch battery polarity. Should go well. If you swap the battery (and it was a good one) and you still get the alarm, you have a motherboard issue.
