We are having trouble getting the "classic" Int 256 software on our XP (Pro) laptops. It either just locks up the PC or gives us general protection faults. Has anyone had any success getting this software to run on XP?
Thanks in advance.

If this is the IMX 256, then you are in trouble. I believe only Win 95/98 are supported with no plans to expand. If it is an Axxess CPU 256, it should work. If it is an Axxess, what version?

Thanks for the reply. Sorry I wasn't very clear. It is an IMX 256. We have tried everything we can think of and as you already know... no luck. Question has been asked a number of times on the Discussion board on Inter-tel's site, but no good answers. The old laptop that has the working software on it has one foot in the grave and the other standing on a banana peel, so we are trying to get it working on our new laptops. Thanks again.

It will run on Windows 98 SE with some modifications. It was actually made to run on the first version of Windows 95. Intertel doesn't state if it will work on XP because the product was discontinued.

We use a program by microsoft called Virtual PC. When it works, it works great, and yes we've used the IMX software with no problems. Be careful though, virtual PC can crash systems very easily. I'd try it out on a spare PC first before trying on a laptop you rely on. Good luck!

You can also try using a dual boot set-up for both operating systems. Try partionMagic and put both operating systems on your hard drive. i haven't been able to get it to work because my compaq restore disk wipes the hard drive after installing win98, Still working on it.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it!
