I have an old french phone and it needs a new face plate. How do you go about getting the plate off. The dial came off by taking the screw out of the center. The dial has the numbers on it and the faceplate has the letters on it. Does anyone know where you can find a faceplate with just the letters on it. I cant say exactly when the phone is from but the handset in the receiver part has the metal disk acting as the diaphragm. Any help would be appreciated. This phone also has the The 4 pin standard setup.

A picture is worth a thousand words. Many phones are commonly referred to as a "French Phone", mostly because of the style. Various manufacturers equipment assembles/disassembles differently.
