Hi folks, new user here with a quick question.
We're a small company with a small hunt group programmed into our system.
We now have a need to have calls coming in on a specific number (in addition to the regular hunt group number) to go into that hunt group and be identified as "special" calls. i.e. when a call comes in on this number, the caller ID on ACD keysets should read read "special call" or something... anything that would allow them to be distinguished from regular hunt group calls.
Is this possible? My thought was to have these calls go to a non-hunt group extension and then forward that extension to the hunt group extension so the ACD keysets would reead "call forwarded from ext. 1522" or something... but that doesn't work. (this also allows us to forward the incoming calls to a cell-phone when the office is closed, but that's another topic)
Any help would be appreciated. I'm really stuck here.

To make sure i have this right, you want a specific trunk to ring a hunt group with the displays on those keysets saying "whatever". Not the other way, a specific caller ID ringing a hunt group? All you have to do is route that trunk or trunks to a new hunt group, with whatever members you want, could be the same as another hunt group, and label the hunt group description and username with what you want the keyset displays to read. The key here is to make a new hunt group so you can label the description and username with what you want. I hope this is what your asking.

Right, you've got it. And that works, as longs as the people in the hunt group are allready on the phone. In that scenario, the display shows "call waiting for HUNTGROUP" However, if they're not on the phone, the caller ID of the calling party is what shows up.
The reason it's important is because we're taking calls for another company. Part of the stipulation of the contract is that we answer the phone using their company name for incoming calls to the number we've assigned them. The rest of the time, we answer calls using our own company name.
So is there a way for the keysets to read "call from HUNTGROUP" whether they are busy or not? I am sure there is, I just don't know how to do it.

Interesting, i havnt noticed that before. Have you tried (dont remember if you said) naming the Trunk Group (that the line/lines in question) description and username to whatever? Also, each station has a set of flags that determine station specific features. Have you tried disabling the "Expanded CO Call Information on Displays" flag at one of stations? Let me know what happens.

Well, I've tried naming the CO/trunk but haven't turned off the expanded CO information. I will give that a try today and let you know what happens.

Program the new trunk(s) to ring into the same hunt group, and also program the individual trunk(s) to appear on the phones. The trunk buttons will illuminate for incoming calls, giving your people a visual indication. This works only if you're not using individual trunks and not DID-T1 services.

I realize this is a little old, but if anyone else is looking for this answer, the trick is to use two hunt groups. Set the first one as the destination for the trunk and set its name to the name you want displayed, but set a 1 second recall time and set the recall destination to a second hunt group.
Set the second hunt group with the actual stations you want to ring, and the stations will display "NAME RCL FRM HG1NAME" or something along those lines.
