What is the purpose of the phantoms on 9.0 if they are stuck in DND? I am trying to understand the usage of these.

They are primarily used as forwarding points, i.e. to hunt groups, for remote/travelling workers (mailboxes only), for the unified communicator app, etc. The other benefit is they no longer count against your license total. So a CPC 64-256, can be programmed w/ 64 phantoms and no hit on your CPC license. 512+ licenses can be programmed for 256. The other thing is they do not need a port address - you remember, put in a DKSC, program the ports, then pull out the card. it is all virtual now.
