I'm pretty sure it is a setting that causes this but maybe someone knows why the Allworx system Call Display shows 9+Number and also in some cases shows the number twice in the display?

Does this have to do with calls ringing both Line Appearance & Call Appearance? I have Line Appearance set to not ring and Call Appearance as Auto. Not seeing any settings in Dial Plan or Handset Pref.
Thoughts or experience?

Our 6X CID has the 9 in the string also. I think it is for the Redial Feature--so that the system grabs an outside line (9 access). If you didn't have that in there, the redial feature wouldn't work.

As far as showing twice---I've never (as far as I know) had that happen. My guess, is that it has something to do with your dial tone providers' database. The first number is sent by the caller's DT provider and the second is from your DT provider. It usually is a name.

That could be. The first number is offset slightly to the right from the number below. Before I've noticed only 1 number during initial install and then after full configuration I see the two. I'll have to experiment a bit. I could be wrong as I'm more behind the scenes rather than a user.

Too bad it couldn't hide the 9 instead of display it. Oh well, maybe next release.

If you go into your call assistant history---the numbers have the "9" in front also---that's because you can double click them and dial that number. Again---the system needs the "9" to access a line.

If you go to the Reports/Call Details in the system---the numbers do not have the "9" in front, but that's because it is just a report and has no other real function.

Like you said, though, they might have an option to hide the "9" someday. I wouldn't hold my breath. wink

Line appearances that are in the call route will add entries to call history even if the ring type in button mapping is set to "none". My advice is to get rid of all your line buttons. They cause confusion when using the system. You should only have call appearances. The 9 prefix cannot be removed. It prepares the history for redial.

OK I will try that. Only problem I have is some of the smaller systems want the line appearances, In which case if the caller ID isn't perfect I think that's a small price in turn.

Thanks for your responses
