Anyone been approached by Cisco to sell the UC500? If so have you seen the demo?

We had the beta version 6 months ago. We have a working unit in the office.

It is largely GUI based, I am not a fan of a GUI. I prefer CLI. It is an interesting box though. The phones will configure themselves as you plug them in. I tried many different phones 7940, 7941, 7960, 7961, 7931, 7912 all of them auto-registered. It has a basic call flow setup. It also has integrated wireless. For a small application it is not a bad deal, and you do still have access to the CLI. You really don't need any Certs to install the UC500 but anyone working on any Cisco equipment should have a minimum of a CCNA if you want to do any minimal networking.

I am not sure about that. We are a Cisco Partner and work with there new product development team. The 1st model we got was a truly beta, it didn't even have a faceplate. The thing is cheap enough though to just purchase a demo.

I just configured one of these boxes to work exactly like a key system. You have direct trunk access, full DSS/BLF functionality, transfer-recall, etc. I mean if you have used Vodavi, Nortel, Comdial, etc there is no learning curve to using this system. It works just like you are used to. So many of the customers we had for this product wanted this level of functionality. It took some figuring out but it works great and is a deal for what this box costs.
