Any way to do this? Third party? Proprietary? I've been asked if a UC 540 site can text using CTI tools.

They want to text to cell phones from within the office. I assume they'll wangt bi-directional if not at first then later.

A gateway of some kind would be necessary for this to happen. I know of a couple that we've used in the healthcare field for doing ALMOST this much on a larger Cisco system. Both have the pieces to make it happen, however we don't have it setup right now to function that way. Technically it should be possible though.
