i have a call center we are looking at replacing and they currently have polycom 650 SIP phones and we are looking to but an IPO with 9620c. i am having a hard time finding what the pro's and con's would be and what features they would not get with staying with the 650s. any thoughts?
thank you,

Hello Martin,
You should be able to make a google search or go right to www.polycom.com and pull up a technical sheet on both models, thus finding the difference.

The features of the polycom phones depend a lot on what is on the backend. They can be used with nearly any SIP-speaking system.

I would do the 9620. Technically, IP Office supports the Polycom phones, but Polycom does not support the IP Office yet.

If you watch all the cool videos on the Polycom phones, they can only utilize about 20% of the functionality that they are capable of.

You need to ask your self, though, what features do you need. If you are the tech installing them, you will want the 96xx series, as these will be easier to deploy with a large qty of phones....

update:
after bleeding all over the polycom phones the customer decided to take my origanal recommendantion and we put in the 5610 and wow it took a whole 15 minutes per phone (firmware update and stuff)andf the price difference was close to nothing.
leason learned? if you have a gut feeling about equipment a customer wants to use and you are not 100% comfortable with it push for what you want and need to do the job or walk away.

I'm with mongo5150 on this one. For future reference it's best to go the 9620 route. But i'm glad the 5610 worked out for you.
