I added a Cisco WIP310-G1 WiFi phone to my IP500 system today.. it was extremely easy and worked great.. Here is a quick SOP to get you going. After you create a user in User management, enter the MAC ID and select 3rd party SIP phone… 1. Power on phone… 2. Press center button 1 to enter menu then again to enter settings 3. Use arrows to select wireless setup 4. Use manual setup> Press options and select scan for networks. a. Select and connect to your network. WPA/WPA2 are accepted ***(Required that the PBX is accessible from the network your connecting to) 5. Once it pulls an IP, open a web page and navigate to the IP. (to find the IP, on the main display page, select options, phone info) 6. Once in the Cisco phone, click admin login on the top right. 7. Click the SIP tab, Update the following a. SIP Server Name: IP of WAVE b. SIP User Agent Name: Ext number c. SIP reg User Agent Name: Ext number d. Scroll to bottom, Submit All Changes **You May See the phone change from no Voice to Not registered 8. Click the Phone Tab, Enter Station name: You can personalize the name here. 9. Click Ext1 tab, a. SIP Settings, verify SIP port = 5060 b. SIP Proxy-Require: WAVE IP c. Under Proxy registration, WAVE IP in Proxy and Outbound proxy d. Subscriber Info:, enter i. Display name: Ext number ii. User ID: Ext name iii. Password = whatever password you setup in User management iv. Submit all Changes 10. Phone should now be registered and Display should say

I can delete some of them but then you may have to get a bit creative with your install.

Actually Dave.. after i got the phone to connect to my wireless network it was easy...
But when security was on I killed myself trying.. The key was the WPA / WPA2 only.. it doesn;t like WEP or any other options..
and i did know you were kidding...

I have my 310-G1 handset connecting ok to my wireless access point but it will not register.
I followed your instructions step by step and double checked the settings. I have 3rd party SIP licensed and activated.

I followed your instructions step by step and double checked the settings. I have 3rd party SIP licensed and activated. I figured it out. 'User ID' in step 9-d-ii needs to be the extension number. I had text in that field. Phone came right into service once changed.
