Anyone done this yet? I have one, along with its expansion cabinet, sitting on a rack mount shelf. I found out the hard way, better remember to zip tie the expansion unit cable down nice and tight.

I had to laugh when I read the instructions for 'mounting' it in a rack (just place it on a shelf). Duh...

I thought there was supposed to be some kind of rack mount kit for the SBX. I guess I thought wrong.The pic on page 5-10 of the installation manual shows half shelfs. I don't think they will work. I stacked them on a full shelf with the supplied rubber feet seperating the main unit from the expansion unit. It makes no difference which is on top.

I've done it with a 15" shelf. Yep, better use some tywraps.

Any pics? I am curious of what it looks like in a rack. All the installs we have done were mounted on the wall.

I rack mounted using blank plates for 19" then drilled into them same as wall mounting, didn't look to bad.
