Is there a way to make music play during a transferred call on the MBX? I need to be able to ring an extension for a long period of time before sending it to voice mail. If the caller hears ringing, they are going to hang up after 5-6 rings. If I can play music, I can stretch it out. I know we do it on other systems..... so why not here, right? (if only it were always so simple)

I can't find any option for music on transfer instead of ringing. You can have moh with vmib announcements if you want them...like "you are going to be on hold for--e--ver!"

Z-man, there is a workaround for this...set up a call queing scenario...then music will play instead of ringing on a transfer. It is the only way to do it for now.

(Vertical let me know about this)

Thanks. I have to call them on Monday, so I will talk to them about this.

we could not figure it out. I setup station group 320, my first station group, and inserted the members. But I can't get it to que or play music. It just rings the phones, and the times out after the forward timer is up.

But why should we have to 'reverse engineer' a new system for such a basic expectation that has been available on any other system (out of the box) for decades?

Having to devise work arounds already scares me with this thing.

This and other missing items such as station lock on the SBX makes me wonder if any of the old LG engineers and Vodavi engineers were even consulted on features that were developed over years of customer requests. What do we have, a bunch of CGs designing our stuff now?

I got it to finally play music and overflow to the default overflow timer, which is a solution for the customer. It wont roll into any of the queing announcements and you can only overflow to a station, not a CCR, which doesn't make sense. You can forward extensions to CCR's if the call originates as an external, but nothing internal. Since the Station group is internal, this seems to be what is holding it back. Also, you need to make sure that you go under ring timers in Pgm 260 and change the timers for index 1 and 19. Now if I can just figure out where the global call forward timer is so I can lengthen it out, I will be able to mark this one up as done.

OK, this is getting beyond stupid. Vodavi had bumps in the road on new product roll outs in the past and they handled them well. This manner of Vertical 'throwing us to the wolves' to fend for ourselves for such basic requirements is pushing my limits.
