I took the online certification. Been doing some online study (this site and others). Yesterday at a new customer site to check why the polycom,x112, is noisy, scrathy. I was so disappointed when I opened the cabinet to see the modular design. Like going back to the Dx 80, the partner or the merlin. I wonder why they did not do a survey from dealers/techs for some logical imput. It seem many common things within the sts and xts are gone ,why ?. Just had to VENT.

Thanks again to all you GUYS. Gary S.

The SBX was first developed in Asia and released there as an LG product about 2 years prior it's being introduced here. The input from the world market beat us to the punch.

I know what you mean Dave but it is pretty sad that America has to conform to Asia. Remember when it was the other way around? Just venting no answers but it stinks. Add that the manuals use terms that may relate to asia but not here. How does hot/warm line sound instead of idle line perference etc etc. It is like we are learning teh asian way. I like the sbx320 but the manuals could use some serious work.

Actually "Hot Line" is a familiar term in some circles here and "Off-Hook" preference would work nicely too. But I had no idea what the heck "warm" line meant. Vertical's predecessor, Vodavi, chose to control the American software. This was very evident when comparing the DHS software against the same T-Com product made for Cortelco and SWBell and Sprint. (I think I've got that list right). I don't remember the differences in the identical EX line that LG made for Fujitsu. The Executone CX made by Vodavi was actually a kissing cousin of the Vodavi EX but Executone owned Vodavi at one time. Some of us remember when Vodavi was actually "Refounded" by separating from Executone.

don't use hot/warm line on the sbx unless you like returning to sites haha. it ends up tying up lines, because if you are on a line and go to intercom someone most the time it locks out the line and you have to pull the mod plug out or reset it to fix it from the customers standpoint/understanding. use 9 or select a flex key
