I am setting up a axxess in our new office. This system was in place at our old office before I joined the company.

Short version of the story is, I don't know anything about this thing. However, its up to me to setup. The current problem is, I plug the system into the wall, it beeps and flashes bewteen 'db error' and 'minor alarm'. I tried unplugging the modules and reseating them. That didn't work.

I plugged a monitor and keyboard into it, and nothing is displayed. The keyboard doesn't even flash like a normal PC bootup.

Any suggestions ?

Well, a lot of things it could be, but the Axxess is not a system you should install when you are just learning. Many on here with years of experience, will not work on Axxess. First is the Voice Mail, connected to the system? Does the system power up? What version of software? Monitor and keyboard connected where?

Well, I don't have much of a choice. I have to get it up and running :P

The monitor and keyboard are plugged into the EVMC.

I don't know if there is voicemail in it, it has a ~5GB HD, so maybe it does.

Regarding software version, I have no idea because I can't get anything on the monitor.

It does power on, but starts beeping and alterating blinking lights bewteen 'db error' and 'minor alarm'

The EVMC is the Voice Mail Card. It does sound like it has lost the database. If you have a save of it, you can re load it, but you will need the programming software on another computer to do that.

Well, I ended up having to call intertel to come look at the thing. Needless to say, they are coming sometime next week to install a new db on it.

Now, my newest problem ... seems kinda newbish, but its been a while since I toyed around with phones.

The extenstions use the middle 2 pins correct ? What do I tie those extenstions to inside the patch panel ? The middle 2 again ?

NO, The Inter-Tel systems uses the second set of pins white/Orange-Orange, or if on normal patch panel wired 568B would be the white/green-Green pair.

If you look into the jack on the base of an Inter-Tel phone, you can distictly see that it uses the second pair. Eyes can be your best troubleshooting tool some times..
