PRI is Primary Rate Interface. It is a digital DS1 with the first 23 channels called B channels- for Bearer channels. They carry the voice portion. The 24th Channel is the D channel- It carries Caller ID info, set up and take down info, call status info, etc. The D channel controls all activity for the 23 B channels.

You may know PRI by its other name...."ISDN".

Thank you. I could not fine the PRI abbreviated , I do all the PRI stuff but I did not know is will a Primary Rate interface.
