200 Elx deleting characters while trying to access programming! WTF? #534165 08/29/12 01:19 PM

jonmyk Member Joined: Feb 2010 Posts: 339 Wooster, Ohio	I have a 200Elx and when I try to access programming remotely via modem or locally it comes up but if I type 1 for VT-100, the one disappears so I press 1 and enter almost simultaneously which works and then I can do the same to select maint or cde but that doesn't work for username and password. It starts deleting what I type no matter how fast I type. It also looks like a tilde (~) flashing on the screen. I've tried hyperterminal and procomm with the same results. Doesn't matter what connection speed either. Is this a bad MCC or Bay or is it something else? Not run into this one before. Rcaman Member Joined: Feb 2006 Posts: 1,716 Pittsburgh, PA	Get down to basics. Remove everything except your laptop directly connected to the maintenance port of the EL. Use Hyperterminal. Set it up for VT-100 emulation. 8-None-1 and use 9600 to start. No Flow control. Make sure the cable is a straight cable. You should have no issues connecting. If you are still having problems, try another computer. We service a lot of Mitel El and I have never not been able to get into programming. Rcaman Americom, Inc.
