This was something programmed by a guru who is no longer with us. He could find a way to make the impossible possible.. and did . . . but now trying to duplicate it is a quest.
Desc: NEC ASpire M - currently several nurses / phones / users are in an intercom group that when you ring ICM the first phone, the others will ICM ring (not the ring of a virtual *03 key or a call FWD both ring - tried that NFG- but the ICM ring tone) and display on both phones who the intercom calling party is.
As an example if X 396 (or any one) calls X 326, both 326 and 327 ICM ring and show CALL FROM BARB 500. Barb will see on her display FWD ...............Med Asst 2 (the name of Ext 327 I believe)
I never did press VOICE to see if my voice would page out of both 326 and 327.
Looking at the programming of 326 and 327 there are no 'hidden keys' ; key 13-48
You can program X 326 under a key or press CALL1 326 and get the same result.. But how?
Thanx for your thoughts
Be Well
PS Both Ring / Call Fwd will not work as we want to make a group of 3 phones receive the same ICM call and we want the call to look and sound like an ICM call

I would verify that those are the true extension numbers. It's possible he's using some sort of virtual loop back ports (and using ring groups) but seems awful long way around a supported function of call coverage keys.

Hi Coral Thanx for your input... yes the group of two that the customer showed me are actually extensions - press CHECK CALL 1 and the phone displays their extensions. It is not a virtual extension. I tried that and put a key on the phones but the customer then showed me how this existing set behaved / ICM ring / displayed who is calling etc.... I thought about ring back ports or a virtual trunk port that rings in to an extension group . . . . but how to get it to behave and sound like an ICM call and not an outside line? ttech - I have a copy I will contact you outside this forum with my email. Thank you. If you send me your social security, a major bank account, name age address parents and next of kin I will remember you in my will FYI this was originally programmed by a friend of mine who passed who worked at NEC in Shelton CT on the help desk.Very smart creative man but if you didn't understand something he would not talk to you. Some how I could BS my way along the conversation and he could tolerate my 'simpleton' mind.
