I did some wiring on a 0x32 this week end and started to set up the extensions and voice mail. It looks like the guy changed the password and I could not get inn to any level of programing. The question is there a way to get into a back door and change the code on the phone system? I already have the procedure to get into the voice mail. The gentleman that was doing the programing is a volunteer for the church is 80 and is in the hospital getting a triple bypass. If the guys does alright with the bypass I will be able to get the password in about a week. I do not want the proceedure to change passwords, I just want to know if it exists?

There is a procedure that would default the ksu and you would have to program everything from scratch.
I could tell you how to do that in a PM.
Let me know if you want to start all over, for a church there would probably not be much programming involved unless you have a PRi or a huge amount of stations.

Old Blood,
Thank, you I think I can get the info out of the manual. I explained to them that this could be a possibility if the gentleman does not remember or if he has further complications. I will let you know if I need some help with the reset.

Telling someone about a startup procedure they can find in a manual is no reason to edit my prompt.
I did not give any directions, you are simply trying to make anything reasonable off limits and I would appreciate it if you stop this attack on my posts.

Rule number 2 of board usage...
2. Please do not post passwords or any other privileged information in the public forums. As a rule of thumb, if the information is not in the users or administrators guide, do not post it in the forum. If you wish to relate such information in regard to a post, you should do this by sending a private message or an email to the poster.
I guarantee the startup info IS NOT in the user or sys admin guide. It is in the installers guide. You've been in this field long enough to know the difference between the installers guide and the end users guide. This is done for system security reasons and to keep info out of the hands of hackers or individuals with just enough knowledge to do harm to a customers system.
Please comply with board terms of usage or expect to have your posts edited.

Anyone who can google can find ALL the manuals AND I said I would PM him the details on the procedure.
If you were to go to other manufacturers, Samsung for instance, you would find thousands of posts mentioning the program numbers and most of those program numbers are not in any user or admin manual. YET, those posts have gone unchallenged for years and years and years.
I am not feeling any guilt here. It appears that this Nortel site has become exceptionally sensitive while other sites are business as usual. I would not post the defaulting procedure, I would of course PM, but as I understand it from Avaya people, anyone can sign up and access ALL Nortel manuals so no hacker would ever have to come here when they could go to the source for free.

Bunnie I've asked you before to not argue board policies in the public forums. Anyone who we repeatedly have to ask to follow the direction of a mod or admin can be suspended, as you are well aware. Let's keep to the topic on this and if you wish to discuss board policy open a topic in one of the private forums you have access to.

If you are still able to change the time on the system you can use the Debug method to get the password without a Rad.
