I'm testing the EnGenius DuraFon 4X cordless phone with a Inter-Tel Axxess phone system. I've got the phone base plugged into a SLC card.
Right now if an employee within the company that uses a regular Inter-tel desk phone calls the extension with the Durafon the display on the Durafon reads "Line 1", not the name or extension of the person calling.
Is there any way to pass the name and/or extension of internal calls through the SLC card to the Durafon cordless phone?
I have a feeling the answer is 'NO'!!!
Thanks for the help, -Scott

I do not know for sure either, but my experience and gut tell me no as the Engenius is not proprietary to the Inter-Tel.

Axxess requires version 9 software to pass CID on single line ports.
I think that's what you're asking. Sorry if I misunderstood the question.

I guess I'm asking about caller ID, though I'm mainly asking about caller ID for internal calls, not necessarily external calls.
How can I found out if version 9 software will work with my Axxess system?

If it is Axxess you can be upgraded to it, but your cpu and voice mail will most likely have to be replaced, depending on version now and type.

If I upgraded to v9.0 would the caller id function also display the names and extensions of internal calls, not just external call id info?

Inter-tel just called me to let me know that regardless of version internal caller id info cannot be passed to the SLC card.
In other words, intra-office caller info (name and extension) can't be passed to analog phones attached to a SLC card.
Nuts.

Nuts. I was afraid of that. They're probably saving that for Version 10. I HATE the way Inter-Tel does business sometimes. Version 11 will probably allow you to scroll back through the Caller ID history.

Now I'm getting a different answer. I'm supposed to have a conference call with Inter-tel next week.
It may be that IC (intercom calls) caller id does work on single line phones with 9.0.
We shall see... -Scott

I haven't had the opportunity to play with this version much, but Superphoneguy seems to do a lot with Version 9. Maybe if he sees this he'll give us his input.
