Okay, we connect the laptop to the phone system with a crossover cable.

The system won't issue an ip address.
How can we connect with a laptop so that we can access the database files and start tweaking out system?

thanks!

Also, I can't find any documentation specific to this subject. A link to some would also be greatly appreciated!

thanks again!

The default IP addy on a CPC is 192.168.200.201. Put yer laptop on the same network and point session manager to that addyress. A field tech manual has this info in it.

UPDATE
There was something wrong with the laptop's settings. Tried another laptop, successfully.

I need a link to a manual that explains what all of these things in the database file are. I'd really appreciate that!

Thanks again!

Please completely fill out your profile if you would.
It will be difficult to find a link for the Inter-tel product, they protect copyright very much. If the system is installed at your business there should be a CD laying around somewhere or you might want to contact your vendor and ask them for a copy.
