Just wondering if anyone or everyone is installing these terminators. Are they really needed?

I haven't had a need for them. I'd probably use them if I had an existing wiring job that looped the cable through and had a lot of loop left after installing the phones. So far all mine have been home runs.

You are supposed to use all four digital ports. If you have at least one phone plugged into each digital port, there is no need for a terminator.
If you had a system with less than four phones, you would need a terminator for each unused digital port.

I have 3 existing systems. Two have 3 phones, one with 5. None have the terminator installed. Have 2 orders coming in from XBlue as I type, so just wanted to see what others are doing.

We've got a couple installed ourselves with the same situation without full strings of phones and so far no issues. We have a couple of the terminators on our shelves for a 'just in case' scenario if they start developing symptoms.
We ordered our equipment through King up to this point and they had no idea what the terminators were...if that tells you anything. We had to wait a week and a half for them to order in the quantity we wanted.

I've never had an issue with unused ports. My understanding was they are for long loops on a port with no phone on the end, but I haven't read it in some time.

The End Point is only needed if you have a cable run over 200 feet, and you remove a phone from an actively running system. Otherwise, it is not needed. Also, if you power the system down, remove the phone, and power it up, it is not needed at all.
