Hi
I have to setup someone at work where his cell and ext. rings at the same time. I could simply create a virtual and have these two ring etc..
However in 24.09 - call forward what is the purpose of "call forward both ring"? seems to me this would be the option to have more then one ring, but after testing it it didn't work.

Call FWD both won't work to a virtual that is FWD outside. To get this to work you will need to setup a "Mobile Ext" CFBoth will work to a mobile ext. I use it all the time in the office when I'm roaming around..

For the record I setup a virtual ext. forwarding all calls to the cell phone number then put in function CFBoth on the internal phone enabled and it didn't call the cell.
but if I setup this internal phone with CFBoth and put in any physical extension both phones do ring...

Paul
thanks so much for the doc information. I got it working, at least have both phones ringing at the same time anyways so I just have to figure out the forward to VM which is in the doc. Anyways thanks again as I was busting my head with this!

one last note sorry, I got everything setup however I noticed that when calling from the outside it rings both physical phone and cell phone then routes to the physical phone VM. When I call internal it has the same behavior however I get endless ring and no VM. If you have any ideas please let me know. thanks again for the link!

That's the way it's designed to work, when it's an outside caller it will pull it back to voicemail when it's an internal call it will not.

I see It's unfortunate it can't just hit VM if no answer for both since this person will be a remote user. thank you for the reply
