I'm looking for a line sharing device for a customer application. However it's a twist on the usual scenario, since what I need to do is connect 2 POTS lines to 1 modem. Customer is a large campus that needs a DR plan, so I need to figure out how to get an alternate line to the RMATS modem without having to go out and move jumpers. Anyone out there done this?

A/B switch is all I can think of.

That requires someone on site, which is not what they're looking for. The modem I need to connect to is on a Teltronics SEB-II, which has a local host port (right now a local terminal is connected to that). It sounds like my best option would be to throw an A/B switch on the local host port and put an external modem there. Kind of a Rube Goldberg solution, but it would work.

https://www.testequipmentdepot.com/skutch/telecomacc/as50.htm Although is lists at $200, it would do the job. So would a cheap "baby" partner that you could pick up on e-Bay. I think Radio Shack used to have something that would route either of two ringing lines to a single line answering machine.

That's just what I'm looking for, particularly since I need to be able to dial out as well. Thanks!

Radio Shack use to have a Telephone Answering System Two-Line Adapter (43-363) that I used alot. I have even daisy chained them to get upto eight lines on one answering machine. Don't know if they are still available or not. I have a couple used ones here.
