I'm not an IT guy, but I work on computers all day long. At home, our old laptop has lasted 10 years, but is showing signs of needing to be replaced. A year ago I bought a cheap one and it has not been an altogether pleasant experience. So I have decided to buy another one. We do email, pictures, Excel and Word, but might get into some light gaming (like WOW) if the situation presents itself. What kind of recommendatioons can you good folks give me? I'm an old geezer, so take it easy on me.

I am a big fan of the IBM's/Lenovos. We use them exclusively at work (now that I made them switch) and they have been great. They may cost a bit more but they are worth it in the build quality.
There are some pretty good deals out there right now if you look around. Look for the "topsellers" as they are the best deal.
Anything with an i5 Intel will suit your needs for years to come.
