I have a dealership customer that took over an existing Legend system. I will be installing 2 - MLX 20L phones, x200 (main), x204 (backup). Both consoles will share in the answering of incoming calls over the PRI. Since there is a primary and a secondary console, would it be best to simply forward the main console to the secondary when the main goes on break?
I read somewhere that there can be a "shared system access" button. Is that something like a bridged appearance on a Definity G3? I could not find where to program that feature, any ideas where to find it?
Thanks in advance.

You can add a console out of service button. That may not be the correct name but it is something like that. When one operator leave's they activate the button and take it out of service.

The position busy only works when using a QCC console, which I would strongly discourage.

You can't have SSA buttons on Operator positions, nor can you share the Operator's buttons on non-Operator positions.

Since PRI is number based, instead of line based, the calls will target one phone only.

You can forward it to the other phone when the primary Operator goes on break.

You could actually make the NON-Operator positions, still target the incoming calls to the primary answering extension, and then you would be able to use SSA buttons to share between the two phones. Just tuck your real Operator position away on a different desk so that you can still find the Night Service button and program from the console phone.

Thnx. I ended up using the call forwarding from the 20L (x200) to an MLX 28 (x204) phone. Seems to work for now, until they get busy and need 2 people to answer incoming calls.
