We have a client (IPX 500, V14.67) that wants to hear music rather than ring back tone when a transferred call rings an extension or boss group. Currently all calls are answered by the uCMC auto attendant system. The caller can select from several options which then transfer to individual extensions or different boss groups. Right now....a caller on hold hears background audio with no problem, but when the caller is transferred either from the auto attendant or by one user transferring a call to another user the caller hears the music for two or three seconds and then ring back tone starts.

This may be a programming limitation with Tadiran but there may also be a work around to provide continuous music with no ring back tone for the caller.

Please advise on your thoughts. Thanks.

That should fix the issue if the caller is being transferred from one user to another but what about the call being transferred from the auto attendant menu to an extension or boss group? Is there a way to use supervised transfer in this application?

Set the voice mail for supervised transfer and up the recall in the VM. The only issue will be if you are fronted by AA an don't have enough ports because it's taking so long.

If you are having issue with people answering their phones I suggest using ACD and reporting to find out the service issues with answering calls. This will give you your background music.

As a side note you are in an unsupported version of software on that IPX500. You might want to consider upgrading it just in case you ever need manufacturer support.

Coral Tech --> Thanks for the response and ideas. We will give them a try. Know that the client was given an opportunity to upgrade but declined.

I wanted to try and test this but I cannot seem to figure out how to enable set the voice mail for supervised transfer and up the recall in the VM. Can you give me some direction as to where to find these settings.
