I recently added a new office and therefor a new phone to my dental practice, however the phone i am using does not ring when there are incoming calls, no caller ID, or anything. If I happen to see the line light flashing and try to answer it, i have to actually hit the line button before it answers. In other words it does not automatically answer when i pick up the receiver. I have been all through the manual and cannot seem to find anything to help. I would love anyone suggestions. I have a Vodavi Starplus STS 3515-71 24 button digital key. Please give me as many details as you can. I know nothing about these phones. Thank you for your time.

You would need to program the lines to ring to your new extension in Admin programming.
But a work around would be to put a call coverage key on your phone for one of the phone that is ringing. Look up call coverage in you user guide

Thank you for your reply. I have a few more questions, first how do i program the lines to ring? This phone actually has a preexisting extension, it was removed from a lab that is not being used anymore. It was programmed not to ring because it was in the back. Also I tried the instructions for the call coverage, however i do not think i am doing it right, as i am not sure what a "flexible button" is. I try to use my extension button, that is not working. Anyways thank you again for your time.

Call Coverage is your best bet without paying for technical assistance either on site or over the phone. Call Coverage does have a delay, in other words if you cover station 100, 100 will ring first then 3 rings later your phone will ring. You should be able to answer without pushing any buttons at that point.

Call coverage does not work, I am fine with paying for help, if I can get real answers not all the vague ones I have been finding on the internet. Not really sure who to call!!! If anyone is willing to answer specific questions, please read my second post in this thread. Also I have been told completing my profile will get me more help. Just want to point out that I have done so. Unfortunately I do not have any IM info, I hope that does not hurt my chances of getting real help.

What problem are you having with call coverage? Will your system not let you create a call coverage key? It is easy to create one...for example you want to cover extension 100 which I assume rings when calls come in...hit the speed button twice press the dss button for station 100 usually the first dss button on your phone, dial 646100. You will get three confirmation beeps if done correctly. Do this without hitting speaker or picking up the handset.

Derrick Thank you so much for your reply, I do appreciate your help. The trouble I was having was what they meant in the manual by a flexible key...It happens to be the dss key you mentioned I didn't know what that was either but luckily and very nicely you told me. So I am up and running now. Again Thank you so much for your help and time.
