I have a phone set up so that if I pick up the handset it automatically rings to the receptionist.
Is there an easy way to make it go to the name directory instead?
Thanks

Most likely what you have set up is a "House Phone." When it goes off hook it dials a predetermined number. In this case, the receptionist's extension. You would probably want it to call the main call processor. That way if they knew the parties extension, they could enter it. If not, then they would enter "*" or whatever you have digit translation set to so they went to the names directory.
You'll need to go into the station set up and set up the number that it direct dials. If you don't have a manual or need step by step info let us know.

I think the voicemail directory. Where they can either dial the first few letters of a name, or scroll through and hear each person's name. I don't want the voicemail though, I want them to be able to ring the selected extension, then go to voicemail if no answer.
Thanks!

From DB Studio (The programming software) on the left side select Axxess System, Devices & Feature Codes, Stations. Then select the extension of the phone that is being picked up to call the receptionist. On that page you will see a setting marked House Phone. It should already be set to Yes if it's being used as one. The next two entries are House Phone Day & Night. The fields next to those have the number that is being dialed when the reciever is lifted. Day refers to the number it dials when the system is in Day Mode and likewise for the Night setting. Set them to the number for the main automated attendant that is used when someone dials your office. That is if you have a main menu that answers the phone when someone calls in. If not we may have to set up an Application.
Try 2500.
