Howdy,

I'm not sure I've got a good enough handling on this and the trouble is, all the phone companies are different, esp. when it comes to their 'soft switches'...

Anyway, call comes in on a PRI and forwards back out to a remote office or cell phone (take your pick on the method):
What would be the correct setting to have the original caller's Caller ID pushed out so the guy on the forwarded end sees their Caller ID and not the Caller ID of the office?

+ Joe Schmoe 214-555-1212 calls the main office at ABC Company 972-555-4141 and hits an extension or block that forwards to Susie's cell phone.

+ Susie's cell phone shows the incoming call coming from Joe Schmoe 214-555-1212, not the office.

Does any know what our settings should be before I call the carrier? I've tried several combinations under Trunk Data 2.6.2

4.50 saw the addition of a new field in MMC210 called FWD HOLD CLI (May have changed names since I last touched it). When off the system will use the office number. When on it will send the CID of the incoming caller as long as the provider allows it.

Pre-4.50 and on anything 500 or older retransmitting the inbound is the default (and fixed) behavior. The only real requisite is having CID enabled for the inbound trunks and allowing trunk-to-trunk transfers.

Also, the PRI provider has to allow it. Cox Communications calls it "hairpinning".
