Two questions:
1)Can you put a working VM button on a DECT phone?
2)Can you transfer to VM from a DECT phone?

You should be able to.

I have tried to put a CALLBACK button and I have tried a VM button. I couldn't get either one to work. How can you transfer to VM of another extension if your CALLBACK button or VM button doesn't work to access your own VM?

Try programming a mailbox button instead of a callback. Feature code tran'pgm 47 plus mailbox number. If that works you can transfer a caller to the box just by pressing the key.

I was unsuccessful programming a mailbox button on the DECT phone because it does not have a PGM button. Programming is done with the TALK and MUTE buttons. So I tried to get around that by creating a mailbox button on a 24 btn phone. I then copied it over to the DECT phone by using the flex button assignment in PC Admin. It worked on the 24 btn phone but not on the DECT phone.
And even still, how would you transfer a call to someone elses VM from the DECT phone if you do not have a callback button?

Without a voice mail button I don't think you can. There is no extension number for vm on an SBX.

I called tech support and was advised that only the top 4 buttons on the DECT phone are programmable. I was trying to put a callback button on the bottom four. Additionally, they stated that it might work to use TALK 557. Haven't tried any of this out yet.

I knew that all the buttons are not programmable, read that in a user guide somewhere. Doesn't make which difference which system it is on XTS, SBX, only four buttons are user friendly. The 557 code is new to me for voice mail access. I will have to check that out.

Okay 557 is answer message waiting for SLTs. I know the callback button is multifunction but I don't see how 557 is gong to work the same as callback on a digital set. I think your best bet is to use a mailbox button but who knows....experimentation is needed here.

Here's some notes on how to program buttons on the DECT phone.
Since V1000 cordless doesn't have speed button hit talk 558 instead.
Only the top 4 buttons are programmable. The bottom are for handset speeddials only.
Programming speed buttons: talk>transfer>flex button to be programmed>transfer 558>hold
Programing other buttons: talk>transfer>flex button to be programmed>extension number or feature>hold
