I Have a Panasonic D1232 system. I have the manual but I’m having difficulty finding a specific feature or function. I would like to have each CO line continue ringing the phone extension while on another call. The phones line only signals with "blinking light" while I'm on the phone. The line rings normally except while on a call. Can anyone direct me to the program number that controls CO line ring behavior for an extension?

731 or 7311 should turn on call waiting,

Yep, it's a Panasonic feature trick, called call waiting :-)

It's turned on by dialing 7311 and 7321 for CO and intercom calls. It makes the phone "soft" ring.

Thank you for your response Carl . I have tried this procedure
It still doesn't work. Calls still will not ring while on another call. I'm using a KX-T7230 phone if that helps.
Panasonic Call Waiting for Outside Lines:
Makes your phone ring when another call comes in and you are on another line.
Press Intercom and dial 7311#, press "SP-PHONE"

Panasonic Call Waiting for Intercom Calls:
Makes your phone ring when an Intercom call comes in and you are onanother line.
Press Intercom and dial 7321#, press "SP-PHONE"

I found That:
Intercom 7310 turns call waiting off resulting in just "blink" light
Intercom 7311 turns call waiting on resulting in 1 soft ring then "blink" light

I would like all lines to ring normally even if you are on a call.

I found this:

Panasonic Call Waiting Short Ring:
Produces a short ring cycle when you are on another line
Press "Program", dial 51, press "Store"

Panasonic Call Waiting Normal Ring:
Produces a normal ring cycle when you are on another line
Press "Program", dial 52, press "Store"

But i still need to test to see if this programming procedure is right.

Is there some variation in this procedure. The system doesn't seem to respond to "program" Dial 52 "store".

Intercom 7311 (Manual shows "#" then "SP-Phone") This was not needed.

After further investigation:

To change call waiting tone to type 2 (normal ring)

the procedure is: "program"(9)(9) dial 52 then "store"
this changes it to tone 2 ,which should bea normal ring.
But it still doesn't ring normally.

PLEASE HELP!!!!!!OMG this system is a real piece of engineering!

Thats all it does. It is what it is.

It was a piece of engineering. Great system for the money.Out of production for 10 yr?? Nothing does everything.

Some systems beep in your ear. Some Beep off hook. Some Ring off hook.

if you need to "HEAR RINGING" while you are talking on a call which to me is annoying , wire up an electronic ringer on a slt ext and make that ext ring on all lines or wire up a second DPT!!
