Anyone figure out how to update a .tar file on these yet. All I get is invalid file, it has to be a .tar file that is 200k or less but doesn't seem to take it.

The MOH on the X-44 consists of 3 files, u-law, a-law and g.729, which must be compressed into a TAR File no larger than than 200kbs (between 8 and 15 seconds of music). If you have a specific piece of music that you would like to use, you should email it to XBLUE Technical Support, and they will probably create the finished file for you. I believe that they will be posting some preloaded MOH Files on their website that can be download.
When uploading a new MOH file to the X-44, you must upload it each of them individually or the caller may not receive the correct MOH when placed on hold.

Hey guys, 1st time here and I just had to comment. Just got an XBlue X50-8ext. system to install. Our old Avaya MOH worked with an mp3 file of 6:03 and totaled 62 mb. I shrunk that file down with free audio program GoldWave (v5.58 from www.goldwave.com) and used "Save as type: WAVE (*.wav)" with "Attributes: IMA ADPCM 8.000 kHz, 4 Bit, Mono" File size is now 1.4 mb and plays well. Sound is voice over easy listening music. Best to you.

This is a late reply to Russ, but... my X50 asks for *.tar file for MOH. They can be recorded through the extension and program menu. I have not tried this yet but I think you can save a *.wav file as described above and use the free program 7-Zip to shrink the sound file for access by the MOH system. Just choose to save as *.tar (you can use the audio program GoldWave to save your sound as u-law and a-law).

The MOH on the X-50 is easy to change. XBLUE has a special technical Bulletin on their website that will step you through the process (See link below).
