Hi

I have been having major problems on an IP500 where the SIP trunks keep on de-registering and re-registering at random.
I have changed the VCM module and upgraded the system software to v8.1
Still the same thing happens.
SIP is on registration method. Is there any way the IP 500 accepts trusted IP instead of registration method?
If yes, how??

Best Regards

Mike

Is the trunk registering to you, or are you registering to the trunk?

Hi Mongo, (thanks for answering)

It is a company called Tipicall, a relatively new UK SIP provider. They are asking if the system can be programmed for trusted IP, but I am not sure?

Toner, I am really not too sure! I just need to know if trusted IP would work. It works ok on our Samsung Officeserv systems as there is a field for programming the IP address or addresses. Can't see this anywhere on the IP Office though.

Regards

Yes, in your SIP CREDENTIALS, uncheck the "Registration Required" box...

that will stop the IPO asking for permission from the Provider...

Thanks Mongo

Then is there a specific place to enter the SIP server IP address (the trusted IP method). I can only see somewhere to put a DNS server address. Is that where I put the SIP server trusted IP?

Kind Regards

Or does it just continue on registration and by unticking, it will be ok?

Someone told me once that the IP Office cannot do 'trusted IP' for SIP

By unticking the box, it will stop sending the registration, which then depends on the provider, not needing to see that.

From my experience, if I have a static WAN IP, they dont do registration. If I have Dynamic, they need registration...

Thanks so much Mongo, I will try this when I next visit the site.

Meanwhile, the SIP provider wants to give me their static WAN IP address of their server and enter it into the system so as not to use registration.

Thankyou

Mike
