Hi all

We have recently received a laptop with windows 8 on it and we are wondering if we would be able to install network emanager on it at all. We have tried but haven't been successful. Is the only way to install it to dual-boot the PC and install it on windows xp or 7? We have done this but it would be nice to know for future reference whether it is possible to load it directly onto windows 8. The version of Emanager we are using is V5.20B18.

Run the installer using XP compatibility mode.

I'm running Windows 8.1 Pro 32bit system and tried XP and windows 7 mode and get an error about sysocmgr.exe (for xp mode) or ocsetup (for wind 7 mode) is missing from C:\windows\system32. I direct windows 8 mode and got the same error as 7 mode Windows Cannot find C:\windows\system32\ocsetup. I installing version Network eManager 5.20C01.

Has anyone found a way to install on windows 8?

Not need any more for now. I found a work around to use an old XP computer to install and access the system to make the changes I needed. If someone does have a good guide to make this work on W8 that would be helpful.

The only way I have found to install and successfully run eManager on a windows 8 box was to run it as a virtual XP machine. You can google "windows XP virtual machine windows 8" and find plenty of instructions on how to set that up. Since it involves activating hyper-V and a few other special steps it would be too involved to go through here.
