Hello,
I understand how to change a DSS key as per the manual, however, the process only allows for EXISTING assigned buttons to be changed. If a button is currently empty, the process does not work. Can anyone help me with this? I can provide more information if necessary.

AHUUUGH! Another person who does not list his or her system.
That said, 722 does one individual phone and 723 does all the phones of THAT button type, ie 12, 24, 18, 28, etc.
IF one button has been changed on one phone in 722 and then the same button changed globally in 723, that button will NOT change with the global 723 change but stay with the older 722 change.
If you want to put in a DSS key on a NEW button that does not have a DSS button, then what I do is (in 722 for instance) get the extension showing on top, hit the right key under the screen, push the button I want to change, hit the 4 key and then the volume down button twice or three times until it says DS, then the right key under the screen again and type in the extension number.
Simple as eating pie.

For a DS key on iDCS and higher systems you can press type in 20. On older dcs systems just press the 3 key twice, then down volume twice
