I just worked on a customers Accent system that the data guy moved from their old bldg, system boots up fine and works except for vmail. When you try and call the vmail you get "voicemail unplugged". The Accent vmail is a card in one of the system slots so not sure why you would get that message. Is there a way to troubleshoot this? I've already tried to re-seat all the cards and reboot, but to no avail.

You could plug a keyboard and monitor into the EVMC, try to reboot and see if anything is happening.

I was told by an Inter Tel dealer that you would have to install a vga card in the system to do this. However, I did notice that there is a ps2 keyboard port and a spare db9 on the same card that the short 5 inch pigtail that goes from another db9 on that board to what I'm assuming is the db9 com port on the computer. Is that what you are talking about? I've been unable to find an install manual for this system to clarify what the ports are for.

DND, the EVMC is on the AXXESS. The AXXENT was a small PC tower based system that is long discontinued.

I'm pretty sure DND ON is well aware of that but may have mis-read the question. He is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to Inter-tel.
As for the OP, it sounds like the voice mail has went down which I've seen quite a bit on the old Axxent systems over the years. I have two sitting in my shop with this very problem that I just haven't disposed of yet. You could try to find a replacement board, but more times than not, you will probably have to resort to replacing the entire system and re-programming from scratch. There are refurbished units out there but you may run into the same problem sooner than later. As Jeff mentioned, they are long discontinued. My suggestion would be to upgrade to an Axxess (discontinued as well), or a 5000. This will allow you to keep your existing phones, which will be a big cost savings.
*Note - Be advised that the most recent version of the 5000 may not support these old model phones. I would advise to make sure of that before making any decision. The Axxess and earlier versions of the 5000 will definitely support them.

I took a guess on what an "Accent" was.
The old phones work on a CS-5000 at version 5.1; I'll bet they'll work on an HX as well.

I know you have re-seatedall of the cards, but have you re-seated the SIMM card in the SIMM CONNECTOR, at socket J20 on the motherboard? These gave me a lot of hassle back then, and if it was just moved, that may have been just enough banging around to loosen it from its socket. Its kind of tricky, because it may look like its in, but if its not evenly placed in the socket just one missed connection can cause a problem. And there is a precise way to put it in.

I called it an Inter Tel Accent because you get google hits with it spelled that way, nothing but Axxess hits using Axxent, so I had thought I remembered it wrong...
Anyway, thanks for the responses. I think the customer realizes its time to replace. I'll take a look at the SIMM card as one last shot.

Could be the BIOS battery is dead and unplugging it caused the BIOS to lose the hard drive settings. You will need a VGA card, monitor and keyboard to check this.
